i was so very fortunate to have you in my life and i know we're kindred spirits we will be together again... it's just the "in between" time that's so hard. i went to church with talon and jack this afternoon..jack sat by me. he moaned and wiggled most of the service. but he was so excited when we got to light the candles. we held our candles together so we had just one flame. we sang "silent night". then he tried to set the paper on my candle on fire. he is "so you".

today is talon's 12th birthday and all soul's day. how appropriate that such a gentle soul was born on this date although we expected him to enter the world in the middle of december. i remember driving from taos, nm to sulphur springs that day to watch your football game the next day and was so surprised to find out y'all were at the hospital having a baby. i'm so thankful i was there to hear his first cry and to see you beaming with pride at your new son. i still tell him that story .... what are the odds...i, of course tell him he knew i was on my way and he just couldn't wait to see his nana.
he's grown a lot in the past 19 months. he's taller but also so much more mature. you would be so proud of him. he is jack's "big brother"and quite protective of him. he understands he is a role model for him and exhibits great patience with him ( most of the time).
we were talking earlier in the week and he still remembers you rocking him to sleep when he was a baby and he still remembers you singing "take me out to the ballgame" every night.
my heart is heavy because you were taken from him too soon. i wish you were still be here to take him fishing, hunting, go-cart riding and all the fun guy things you did together.
we miss you everyday

Friday,august 31,2012 was. the night you looked so forward to... the first grhs varsity football game. while you won't physically be there, you will be there in my heart, the hearts of your sons, the hearts of your family, the hearts of the players and the hearts of so many other people. this will be another "first " for me... i can't remember going to a varsity game without watching you and being so proud of you. go horns
